Meet our Physical Therapy Team
Dr. Alex Ghaffari, PT, DPT, COMPT, FAAOMPT has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 1980.
Dr. Ghaffari completed sevearl graduate and doctoral courses in sport science and orthopedic manual therapy at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has completed his post doctoral fellowship in manual physical therapy in 2007. His clinical research interest is in the low back pain effects on weight distribution and static balances, pain and movement dysfunction. Since 2002, the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties recognizes Dr. Ghaffari as a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
As a Physical Therapist of A Family Practice & Wellness Center, Dr. Ghaffari's primary responsibilities are direct patient care, PTA supervision, and assisting in daily clinic operations.

Melissa Amedee, PTA has been a licensed Physical Thearpy Assistant since 1998.
Melissa has been working at A Family Practice for 8 years and enjoys the family like atomosphere. She is also a licensed massage therapist for our practice. She went to Wood Hygienic Institute for massage in 1999 and Wallace State College for Physical Therapy in 1998. She has been working in both fields since she has completed the programs.
Jessica Babcock, PTA has been a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant since 2004.
Jessica has been working at A Family Practice for 2 years. She graduated from Washburn University's PTA program, located in Topek, Kansas, in 2004. Her and her husband moved to the Cartersville area two years ago. Jessica believes the orthopedic patient population is always fun, and always a pleasant challenge to work with. She loves the active, always challenging aspect of her line of work.

Michelle Cokely, PTA has been a licensed Physical Thearpy Assistant since 2001.
Michelle has been working at A Family Practice for 4 years. She graduated from Broome Community College, located in Binghamton, New York, in 2001. She has a strong background in orthopedics and finds it a most rewarding field to work in. She moved to Georgia shortly afer graduating to be closer to her family and absolutely loves living here.
